AT THE annual general meeting of Evesham Cricket Club, it was reported that the Club had had its most successful year in recent history.
"The first team were champions of Birmingham Premier League Division Three and there has been an influx of new members.
Club chairman, David Higginson said: "The second eleven also enjoyed a successful season and, such is the interest in the game, we will be running four teams on a Saturday next season, as well as three on Sundays and four youth teams.
"Following a lot of hard work and investment in recent years, we have what is undoubtedly one of the finest cricket grounds in the region."
The third team has switched from the Cotswold Hills League to Division Six of the Worcestershire County League, while the fourths will be in Division Eight.
Head Coach, Simon Price added: The junior sides did exceptionally well and we have a record number of youngsters going forward for county trials this winter."
All the principle officers were re-elected as follows: Chairman, David Higginson; vice-chairman, Peter Davidson; secretary, Bob Shaw; treasurer, Will Bailey; head coach, Simon Price; head youth coach, Dave Martin; chairman of selectors, James Bailey.
