SOME of your readers may be aware that last month was Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
Lung cancer is the biggest cancer killer in the UK with a new case diagnosed every 15 minutes. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only charity solely dedicated to fighting this awful disease through research, patient care, campaigning and education.
However, to enable us to continue our vital work which includes supporting lung cancer patients and their families, we need the help of your readers.
One simple way in which they can help is to support our recycling Appeal by sending us old mobile phones, printer cartridges and PDAs. With an estimated 90 million redundant mobile phones in the UK and more than 30 million inkjet cartridges being dumped each year, the fundraising potential is endless.
So if you have any old mobiles, empty printer cartridges or PDAs please send them in to The Roy Castle Recycling Appeal (EL), 31-37 Etna Road, Falkirk, FK2 9EG.
Companies can also support our appeal - if you have a number of phones or cartridges in your workplace call on 08451 30 20 10 to arrange a free collection. For more information on the appeal you can visit www.recyclingappeal.com/roycastle
