Droitwich III 0, Pershore III 41pts
WHAT was supposed to be a home fixture for Pershore had to be rearranged on Saturday morning due to Piddle Park being flooded.
After 20 minutes it looked like Droitwich were going to be the dominant side using the tactic of kicking deep and chasing to pin their opponents back and force mistakes.
It took a while but Pershore eventually settled into the game and a five-metre scrum was pushed over the line to allow No 8 Wayne Stammers to touch down.
Hard work from the pack then allowed prop Brian Avery to give Pershore a ten-point lead before frustration among the forwards led to a few blows being exchanged and a yellow card for Mark Deaville for excessive use of his boot.
Stand-off Carl Wilkins crashed over soon after the restart and this saw home heads drop and allowed Pershore to pile up the points.
Great support play led to Steve Eades and Pete Reynolds bagging a try apiece, while Deaville redee-med himself with a powerful run and big hand off to touch down before winger Graham Spiers spurted up the blindside of a ruck to end the try count.
Seven tries and three conversions from scrum-half Anthony Perks made it a profitable afternoon on their travels and there's another trio north on Saturday with a visit to Redditch for a friendly.
