AFTER December's regular cold and wet seasonal weather, Sun-day was lovely, sunny and warm for Eve-sham's Under-10s to play host to Droitwich.
Droitwich turned up with 28 players to face the home side's ten so they already had the advantage!
Evesham soon gained lots of territory through a huge team effort with Mat Camp and Jack Gillet having good runs passing to James Williamson and Ben Sherwood. Scrum down to Evesham but Adam Johnson, Sam Waller and player of the match Alex Tarplee had to fight hard against a bigger pack.
But, after winning the ball, Jack Witts passed to Joe Beins who fed Thomas Heneghan who scored the first try.
Droitwich now started to pile on the pressure, using the advantage of plenty of replacements. And, after a good charge through the middle of the park scored the equaliser just before the half-time whistle.
The two sides were evenly matched so play was end to end and a joy to watch even at this level. However, it was the visitors who scored again from a good passage of play to clam the honours.
