NEWS of up to 1,000 jobs losses in the local health service is a devastating blow to the West Midlands region.
The NHS in the West Midlands has led the way in provision of medical and nursing care and has always been a matter of pride for employees.
Student nurses have had to endure surviving on less than the minimum wage, as well as trying to juggle family commitments for the three years of their training and to find there will be no job at the end will find many nurses leaving the region in their search for jobs.
If the threat of job losses is realised, then many nurses will leave the already understaffed region and move elsewhere, even overseas.
This situation is extremely worrying, especially for those who rely on the services of their local hospitals. This will mean many people will have to travel many miles to get the treatment they need.
