BINGE drinking is the subject of a new play being taken on tour around schools in the area.
Had Enough?, a play written by students at NEW College, aims to raise awareness of excessive drinking and its consequence.
It has been written, organised and staged by Foundation Degree students from the college's Theatre and the Community Course, who have organised a tour around 18 schools in Redditch and Bromsgrove.
They used information from Hereford and Worcester Advisory Service on Alcohol and the project was funded by the Local Education Authority and Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team.
In the play, realistic binge drinking scenarios are acted out, such as drinking in the park or at house parties, and linked with consequences like sexually transmitted infections.
Jacqui McGonagle-Turner, performing arts lecturer, said: "What we are trying to get across is safe drinking and the consequences of excessive alcohol intake."
