Singers are being sought to boost the choir for the ever-popular Carols by Candlelight Service at St James's Church on Sunday, December 18, at 6.30pm. There will be three rehearsals in the church from 7.30pm-9.15pm on Tuesday 6th, Friday 9th and Friday 16th plus one on the afternoon of 18th from 2pm-3.30pm. New singers and those who have previously taken part are warmly invited to take part - just turn up at the church. Further information from choirmaster John Raine on 565052.
Local admirers of the high quality of the singing of the St James's School girls will not wish to miss their appearance at Malvern Priory on Saturday, December 10, at 7.30pm. Tickets (£10 adults, £8 concessions, £5 aisle seats, accompanied children free) are available from Nicola Moss at the school 560851 or on the door on the night.
There will be a Christmas Fayre, with a variety of stalls and refreshments, at the Social Club (next to the village hall) from 2pm-4pm tomorrow (Saturday).
The 'Cholesterol Twins', a scratch team paired up at short notice between Dave and Angela Cantrell and Wilf and Sharon Keeley, were the winners at Saturday's Cricket Club quiz at the village hall, just beating Brian and Diana O'Connell, Sue Dakin and Ted Ekins - playing as 'Fish & Chips', which delicacy was enjoyed in the interval by all (except those who had forgotten they were included in the price and had had supper before turning out!).
