THE American owner of the Morgan Aero 8 that took part in the 2002 Le Mans race is hoping to bring it back to Malvern for the marque's centenary.
The car, in its distinctive yellow and black DeWalt livery, won the hearts of motor sports fans during the 24-hour race.
Richard Fohl, a dermatologist from Richmond, Virginia, was in Malvern last week, visiting the factory.
He also took the chance to visit the Aero 8's race mechanic, who lives on the South Coast.
While in Malvern, Mr Fohl dropped in at the Gazette office to buy a copy of the paper's 2006 calendar, which features a picture of Morgan three-wheelers on the cover.
"It's always a pleasure to come to Malvern and visit the factory," he said.
"Ideally, I'd like to bring the car back here for the centenary, if I can get the sponsorship."
