MALVERN Community Hospital has a new matron, Lin Ingles.

Mrs Ingles, who started the job on Monday, has 30 years' experience of nursing in Worcestershire.

She has worked at Worcester Royal Infirmary and Worcestershire Royal Hospital and specialised in paediatric nursing.

Before starting her new job in Malvern, she was an emergency nurse and acting matron at the accident and emergency department of Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Mrs Ingles was born and brought up in Malvern and still lives locally. She is married with two grown-up children.

She said she is excited about the challenge of caring for patients in the hospital at Lansdowne Crescent.

"I'm also keen to be involved in the development of the new community hospital and I would really be pleased to see a minor injuries unit and a palliative care unit there," she said.

June Patel, the primary care trust's director of nursing, said: "I'm delighted Lin has joined us and welcome her fresh ideas on nursing care.

"With her background in accident and emergency, she is well placed to input into discussion for a minor injuries unit at the new hospital."

The hospital's previous matron, Mary Horner, has moved to a new career in the pharmaceutical industry after two years working there.
