MATHON, Cradley and Storridge (MCS) Mixed A tennis team gained a hard-fought away victory against Worcester Mixed C.
In difficult, windy conditions the MCS pairing of Ursula Mason and the experienced Paul Grubb won the opening rubber 7-6, 7-5. Ursula and Paul were unlucky to lose their second match 2-6, 7-5, 3-6, with both pairs serving and volleying to a high standard.
The MCS pair of Janet Brown and Duncan Hannaford won their opening rubber 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. However with their competitive spirit won the final rubber 7-5, 6-4 to secure the victory.
New MCS mixed team captain Chris Brandon-White was delighted to secure the points prior to the Christmas break as the sides next match is not until the New Year.
