Local government trading standards officers and environment health officers are warning people about Willards smooth peanut butter which may contain high levels of aflatoxin.
These are produced by moulds that grow on food in tropical and sub-tropical countries. They have been linked to liver cancer.
Zambezi Foods has withdrawn 375ml tubs of Willards smooth peanut butter and consumers are being advised to check their cupboards for batch numbers 385823 (best before - 27/01/06) and 375681 (best before - 11/11/05). They should be returned to the shop or supermarket where they were bought.
