CHRISTMAS will arrive early at Pershore's Number 8 Community Arts Centre this year as Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society, PODS, present Scrooge, the Musical from next Monday, December 5 to 10.
Based on the Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol, the story shows how Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Peter Wilkinson, is shown the error of his ways following visits by the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
A special set has been designed and created by PODS technicians and the wardrobe team has created a set of Dickensian-style costumes for the production.
Director Jan Simpson said: "We have a large cast of 35 adults and 11 children in this production and everyone has been working hard in rehearsals and behind the scenes to make this a wonderful show. With music and script by Leslie Bricusse, there couldn't be a better way to get the whole family into the Christmas spirit."
Tickets are available from the Number 8 box office on 01386 555488.
All tickets are £10 except the opening gala night which is £12 including a glass of sparkling wine on arrival.
