A WOMAN who stole from a neighbour she had befriended in Kidderminster has been jailed for 33 months at Hereford Crown Court.

Lynsey Mackle, 22, of Biset Avenue, Comberton, was convicted of theft after a trial at Worcester Crown Court earlier this month.

She was alleged to have stolen door keys from neighbour, Malcolm Trow, soon after he had moved in and to have taken his prized collection of 150 DVDs.

Mackle was said to have taken the keys after she had been invited into the flat for a cup of tea and to have returned later to steal the DVDs.

She claimed, however, she had only gone back to the flat to carry out cleaning and look after Mr Trow's cat.

Police found her hiding in a cupboard when they went to arrest her at her home but she maintained she was petrified because of earlier wrongful arrests.
