STOURPORT manager Roy Rencher will be hoping it has been unlucky 13 as he prepares his side for this weekend's trip to the only team with a league record worse than the Swifts.

The last time the Walshes Meadow side won a Southern League Western Division game was back in August. They have since tried 13 times for a repeat performance but, despite a change in manager, that elusive second victory has failed to materialise.

They will not have a better chance to kick-start their season than on Saturday when they head to basement club Thame United.

Swifts were close to celebrating a win last weekend but once again they wasted chances in front of goal as they were held to a 0-0 draw by visitors Burnham.

They also had keeper Eric Pudaloff to thank for earning them a share of the points, the former Egham Town stopper producing a number of fine saves.

He made an excellent double save just before the break and then managed to keep out a header early in the second period.

And when Damien Smith looked odds-on to grab all three points for Burnham 14 minutes from time, Pudaloff was again up to the task with a brilliant reflex save.

Swifts' strike pair Richard Burgess and Rory May also had chances at the other end, Burgess going close after just eight minutes but his shot was blocked by the legs of Burnham keeper Jamie Jackson.

Adam Hughes pushed an effort wide before the break before May missed Stourport's best chance of the game early in the second half following so e good work from Burgess.
