JUMBLE RESULT: The jumble sale on October 29 raised £755 for the Air Ambulance and the village hall.
PROMISES BOOST: The Foes raised £6,000 for the school, which included £1,237 from Barclays Bank with their match funding scheme. The Joss Parkes Hope Trust also benefits by £211 from the children's section.
DONORS WANTED: The Anthony Nolan Trust will be hosting a recruitment session at Eckington School on Monday, December 12, 2.45pm-7pm. The charitable trust compiles an international register of potential bone marrow donors. There is currently a very urgent need to find a match for a one-year-old girl from Bristol, who needs a transplant within six months if she is to survive.
To register as a potential donor requires completion of a simple form, which will be available from school in advance, and giving a small sample of blood. Donors must be aged 18-40 and weigh more than eight stone.
ROYAL BRITISH LEGION: The AGM is next Monday at 8pm in The Anchor Inn. There are now only 28 members in the branch and more are needed if the branch is to survive.
THURSDAY CLUB: On December 8 in the village hall at 2.15pm, the Christmas tea party will include musical entertainment by Jolly Roger. On December 15 the Christmas lunch is at The Anchor Inn, 12.30pm for 1pm. Cost £11.50 per head.
The next meeting is in the village hall at 2.15pm on January 5.

PARISH COUNCIL: The council met on Tuesday, November 8.
Recreation Centre: Approval was given for the second instalment of the grant, totalling £2,500, towards the running costs of the centre. A letter was sent to the committee thanking them for hosting an enjoyable and successful bonfire night.
Parish Plan: The council has formed a small working party to review progress towards the action points in the parish plan. A report on their findings will be detailed in the next issue of the parish magazine.
Affordable Housing: The planning inspectorate has published its report on Wychavon District Council's Local Plan. It is anticipated that Wychavon and Rooftop Housing Group will be able to formally bid for funding from the Housing Corporation for the proposed affordable housing site in Pershore Road.
The inspector's report on the Local Plan did recommend that Wychavon District Council should reconsider including the previous proposal for a housing site on Tewkesbury Road. Wychavon District Council is considering the inspector's recommendations, and any modifications report will be made available for public consultation. It is anticipated that this report will be available at the beginning of 2006, and will be accessible through any of the Wychavon shops or on the website www.wychavon.gov.uk
Precept: The council agreed to set the precept at £17,000.
The next planned meeting of the parish council will be on Tuesday, January 10 in the village hall. There is an open forum at 7.30pm .
BOOK CLUB: The next meeting is on Friday, January 20 at Dominique's to discuss Toast by Nigel Slater.
HAIR TODAY: Liz Crumpton raised £343 by having her head shaved at the Foes auction of promises. The money will go to school funds.
