A YOUNGSTER from Pershore switched on the Christmas lights after winning a card design competition.
Chelsea Overbury, aged seven, from Pershore, entered the annual Christmas card competition organised by Mayoress Jan Parsons.
Children aged four and nine from Holy Redeemer Primary School and Abbey Park First School took part.
Chelsea switched on this year's lights on Thursday, accompanied by her friends and competition runners-up.
Mayor of Pershore Chris Parsons said: "We hold the competition every year but this year we've had a phenomenal response from youngsters with some beautiful Christmas card designs."
The winners for each age group were Kimberley Steadman, aged four, Lydia Edwards, five, Chelsea Overbury, seven, Katherine Baston, eight, and Josie Chapman, nine.
Mr Parsons presented each winner with a cash prize.
