DELICIOUS dishes are definitely on the menu in Pershore following the publication of a charity cook book.

It has been created by Helen Saunders, owner of Capers delicatessen in High Street, who was asked so often for her recipes she decided to put them in a book and sell it in aid of St Richard's Hospice in Worcester.

"It's packed with relaxed recipes for the scared cook," said Helen. "By that I mean that it's designed for people who want easy to follow recipes which produce stunning, tasty food but without spending hours and hours in the kitchen. They are all original, tried and tested recipes which are quick and easy with great results."

Helen chose to support St Richard's because she thinks the work they do is "fantastic".

She added: "I also hope that I never have to benefit from it though it is nice to know it is there if I need it."

The book, Culinary Capers, was launched last Thursday when Helen marked three years in business in Pershore. It is available from the shop and various other venues in the town.

Tricia Cavell, fundraising manager at St Richard's, said: "It's a great cook book to have in the kitchen - a real inspiration for everyone who doesn't have time to spend all day at the stove but still want to create a healthy, tasty and quick meal. We are very grateful to Helen for choosing the hospice to benefit from the book."

St Richard's has been serving the community for 21 years, with 60 staff and 600 volunteers. Work has recently started on the new hospice building.
