A goal following a disputed free kick two minutes from time settled issues when Tenbury United visited Blackheath in the West Midlands League Premier Division on Saturday.
The goal was particularly harsh on United keeper Byron Davies who had returned to the team after dislocating his shoulder in September.
Davies could not hold the fiercely driven kick and a home defender was able to put it in the net.
Despite the defeat, United manager Colin Powell, came away full of praise for his team believing they had played the best football of the season so far.
And the manager will be looking for an upturn in fortunes when they host Bridgnorth at Tenbury on Saturday.
