CAMERAS have been rolling in a Wyre Forest village as filming got under way for a revenge thriller starring a Hollywood actress.

Film crews were out in the woods near Button Oak, last week, to shoot scenes for the movie, titled Straightheads.

The cast includes Gillian Anderson, who played Special Agent Dana Scully in popular science fiction series, X-Files, and is currently starring in the BBC adaptation of Charles's Dickens's Bleak House.

Starring alongside Anderson is Danny Dyer, who has appeared in the films, Football Factory and Mean Machine, and Holby City star, Anthony Calf.

Straightheads tells the story of a career woman with a damaged past who returns to the forest of her childhood, where a violent incident forces her to confront her inner demons.

The £1.8 million movie is being directed by Dan Reed, who is making his feature debut as a writer and director.

It is being made by DJ Films and Free Range Films and is backed by FilmFour, UKFC New Cinema Fund and Screen West Midlands.
