DRAFT proposals for the new catchment areas for Wyre Forest pupils have been drawn up and sent out to schools for consideration.
The plans will be sent through to designated headteachers and temporary governing bodies at the 30 new schools.
Discussions taking place during the "informal consultation" period include which new primary schools will feed into secondary schools.
Among admission options being considered at this stage is whether to feed St George's CE Primary pupils into Wolverley CE Secondary or King Charles I Secondary.
Representatives from the current and new schools will report their comments on the first drafts back to Worcestershire County Council's Project Board in January.
Zoe Cookson, project manager for Wyre Forest Schools Review, stressed the process was at an early stage and open to change.
She explained: "At the moment, there is an informal consultation process taking place with the schools. They are in a position to know if these draft proposals mirror what the community wants.
"The schools' opinions will be analysed and help make up the plans that will be put out to a more formal consultation in the spring."
Parents will get their chance to have a say on the proposals at two surgery-style events, where officers will answer questions and receive feedback, in March.
The final decision about catchment areas is due to be made in June to give parents sufficient time to apply for places.
