MARATHON men, Adrian Davis and Alan Bennett, ran together for the first time to help their club raise more than £3,000 for cancer research.
The pair, who are members of the Wyre Forest Fellowship Club, completed the Wolverhampton Marathon in just under four hours.
The club, made up of ex-Round Tablers, supported Mr Davis, a 51-year-old businessman and Mr Bennett, 48, a consultant anaesthetist, by collecting sponsorship money for their run and raised £3,213 plus gift aid.
It was Mr Davis's first marathon and Mr Bennett, who previously ran one when he was a student, went on to complete the Chicago Marathon.
The proceeds were presented to Cancer Research UK community fund-raiser, Sue Medcalf, at the club's charity jazz night, featuring the Source City Jazz Band at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall.
It will be used for research into breast and testicular cancer.
