Pershore 1, Kynoch 2

PERSHORE'S chances of securing a promotion spot took a heavy blow last Satur-day when they crashed to defeat against the ten men of the visitors.

The Coaching Solutions West Midland League Division Two table is shaping up to be hotly contested but, with just two promotion spots available, every point is vital.

Pershore started brightly enough and coped well with the Kynoch attack but failed to deliver accuracy with the final pass.

And, Richard Lisle, playing at centre forward, was feeding off scraps even with the numeric advantage.

Kynoch appeared to have shot themselves in the foot when their own centre forward was sin-binned for repeated infrin-gements yet still Pershore failed to capitalise.

Vincent Crawley and Anth-ony Handley had pace on the wings but little penetration and Pershore eventually conceded possession, and a goal, shortly before half-time.

Skipper Garth Rushton made tactical changes that did redress the balance and a change in fortunes looked likely when Russell Scudamore's mishit shot squirmed in to level the scores.

However, disaster was less than a minute away as poor control in midfield gave away possession and the umpire failed to see a back-stick infr-ingement and Kynoch immediately regained the lead that they held through luck and commitment.
