Evesham Ladies 5, Old Silhillians II1
AN UPBEAT Evesham travelled to Solihull and, for the first time this season, found themselves under pressure in the opening five minutes when Sills won a succession of short corners.
The ball was finally cleared from their defending 25 by Emma Scott and the visitors embarked on a clear break. Danni Cox and Alice Cooke worked some short sharp passing down the flank for the former to give her side the lead.
It got better almost instantly for the visitors when, almost straight from the pushback, Vanessa Dufty struck home a second goal.
Swift passing around the back by Kennedy, Robinson, Scott and Witheford allowed Evesham to instigate even more attacking play.
A surprised home side allowed Cooke to take advantage with a third from a short corner that was deflected off a defender when Tash Kuiper drag flicked the ball.
Kuiper continued to have too much skill for the home defenders and another clean flick at goal brought Evesham a fourth goal.
Player of the match Scott then turned a defensive tackle into an attacking solo that ended with her coolly slipping the ball into the net.
Sills managed to sneak a cheeky late goal past Charmaine Mitchell.
The match ball was sponsored by Lapema Kennels.
Evesham are at home on Saturday (1.15pm) when fellow title contenders Stourport are the visitors.
