DRINKERS at a Droitwich pub tested their knowledge and endurance to raise about £1,500 for charity. About 30 participants took part in a 24-hour quiz at The Rifleman's Arms, in aid of the County Air Ambulance. This exhausting challenge started at 7pm on Friday and carried on through the night. The pub applied for a special 24-hour drinking licence just for the day, to keep contestants lubricated throughout the proceedings. Landlady at the Station Street pub, Trudy Faulkner said: "It was excellent and most people stayed and did the full 24 hours. It really brought the customers together." The event raised about £1,100 in sponsorship, while drinkers and supporters dug deep to raise an additional £300 with donations and a raffle.
