Bromsgrove Rovers 0 Solihull Borough 0
Southern League Division One West
ON a freezing night at the Victoria Ground, Rovers failed to capitalise on a promising first half performance as they were held 0-0 by Solihull Borough.
Jimmy Mullen's side had to settle for a point from a game in which they created the better chances. However, as the temperature dropped, so did Rovers' quality.
Rovers had their first clear sight of goal on 25 minutes but Wayne Dyer fired over following a free kick. And the home side's wastefulness in front of goal continued six minutes later when Kevin Banner blasted over from close range after a good run and cross from Anthony Maguire. Solihull's strikers were given little to work with, mainly thanks to the commanding Exodus Geohaghan, who won almost every header that came his way. By the second half Rovers were reduced to trying to profit from Geohaghan's huge throw ins. Mullen will need his side to be a lot sharper than this, especially with the accuracy of their passing, if they are to start climbing the table.
ROVERS: Evans, Benbow, Hillman, Male, Geohaghan, Hadland, Maguire (Williams, 71), Dyer, Szewczyk, Porter (Barnes-Homer, 57), Banner (Adams, 71). Referee: Mr G O'Sullivan. Att: 168.
