SOME of the country's leading motorcycle trials riders will converge on the town this weekend.

The Redditch Motor Cycle Club will be holding its annual Terry Cup and Christmas Pudding Trial on Sunday with the riders taking part in a number of tricky tests in a bid to land the coveted top prize.

The club was formed nearly 100 years ago and has been organising this particular event since the 1930's when Terry's of Redditch presented them with a trophy to be competed for each year.

Riders will start this year's event from the premises of SE Davies at Astwood Bank where they will tackle the first of many obstacles.

Competitors will then move on to sections around Feckenham, Elcocks Brook, Ham Green and the Webheath area.

Around 70 riders took part in last year's event with the organisers hoping for a similar field this time.

There will be classes for experts, clubmen and one for the over 40s.

The first bikes are due off at 9.30am on Sunday and they are likely to take around six hours to complete the course.
