RAYMOND and Charles Bomford were charged with having no name on a traction engine which was being driven in the Evesham Road, Astwood Bank, on November 21.
Police Sgt Iles proved the case. Superintendent Hayes said Mr Bomford had been present in the court but had had to leave to keep a prior engagement and asked the bench to deal with the case in his absence.
Mr Bomford explained in a letter that the offence was an oversight and that he had no wish to evade the law.
All their other traction engines apart from the one in question was properly registered and had the name inscribed.
This particular engine had only been purchased recently and by accident was taken without having the name on.
Defendants were each fined 2s 6d and 8s 3d costs.
