BROMSGROVE remain in the hunt for a promotion place in the Coaching Solutions West Midlands Division One after a clinical display against Leamington on Saturday.
Victory made sure that the Boars stay hot on the heels of unbeaten leaders Whitchurch and second placed Wulfrunians.
Matthew Russell and Alan Henderson bagged goals in each half to keep Bromsgrove six points off the second promotion spot.
Captain Julian Court was more than satisfied with his side's performance.
He said: "We controlled the match and once we scored there never looked like Leamington had a chance of coming back into it.
"We should have scored a few more. We dominated the game and made a lot of chances."
Bromsgrove went into the game on the back of a formidable run of form, losing just two of their seven league games.
However, their Warwickshire opponents until the end of the first half frustrated them when Russell put his side ahead with a cute finish.
Bromsgrove continued to apply the pressure in the second half, but once again did not take the chances that fell to them.
Teenager Alan Henderson made the match safe late on with Bromsgrove's second goal.
With his side winning six of their eight games Bromsgrove captain Court believes that his team can still win promotion.
He said: "I think we have a chance of going up.
"The top two haven't lost a game yet and they will have to drop points for us to get into the promotion spots.
"But we're playing well so there's no reason why we can't go up."
Bromsgrove, who have only lost to the top two sides all season, face a testing game on Saturday, December 3 away at derby rivals Redditch.
Saturday's rivals are languishing in the bottom half of the table, but Court expects a difficult game.
He said: "This match is a different type of test for us.
"We've played the best sides in the league and did well against them even if we didn't win.
"But derbies are always competitive and this one will be no different.
"We'll have to treat this game like any other."
