Bedworth Athletic 38 Bromsgrove 10
Midlands Division One
A PULSATING match was abandoned after a horror tackle left Bromsgrove back Ali Hall unconcious during Saturday's Midlands Division One clash at Bedford Athletic.
Hall was left unconsious on the pitch by a high tackle in the 60th minute.
By the time an ambulance arrived to take Hall to hospital it was too dark for the game to be completed.
Bromsgrove are set to contact the league secretary to request for a replay. Club officials hope to hear the decision within the next two weeks.
The Boars' head coach Iain Hall said: "It was a competitive match and Alistair was caught by a high tackle.
"He was unconscious and we thought it was too dangerous to move him.
"Luckily once he woke up he seemed to be okay. It could have been a lot worse.
"It was an unfortunate accident, but passions run high.
"Ali and the player that tackled him are friends and he's already phoned up to apologise.
"We'll have to wait and see if the game can be re-played, but we are very eager to play Bedworth again."
While escaping serious injury Hall will miss the next month with concussion.
Despite the game's unfortunate end new coach Hall, who replaced Dean Ball two weeks ago, was pleased with his side's progress.
Hall has not been able to turn results around for winless Bromsgrove in the league just yet.
However, he felt that the bottom side's performances had improved and they had pushed Bedworth all the way.
He said: "For 20 minutes we played some scintilating rugby, our passing was brilliant and we really cut loose.
"That was the most pleasing aspect of the game, we really looked good."
Frankie Hale bagged Bromsgrove's try, which was converted the Ben Copson, who also scored a penalty for Bromsgrove.
