REDDITCH United manager Rod Brown is tracking Kettering Town hot shot Christian Moore.
The 33-year-old former Worcester City and Telford United ace is looking for a move away from Gazza's Nationwide Conference North side because he is not interested in playing full-time.
Brown was due to talk to the striker this week ahead of Saturday's league clash at Hucknall Town.
But he knows he faces tough opposition for Moore's signature with Tamworth and Ilkeston Town, one of the player's former clubs, also hoping to snap him up.
"I am constantly looking to improve the squad and I have been looking to bring in another striker and midfielder for a while," Brown explained.
"Christian Moore is on contract to the end of the season but I don't think a fee would be involved if he came to us."
The striker began his career with Leicester City but it was at Ilkeston where he came to the attention of Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough who snapped him up for a club record fee of £17,000 back in 2000.
He moved to Telford United three years later before heading to Worcester the following season. He signed for Kettering in August.
Brown will be hoping for some good news ahead of the trip to Hucknall with winger Simon Hollis, midfielder Daire Doyle and striker Jermaine Clarke all struggling with injuries.
The Reds will be at home to Unibond Division One side Clitheroe in the first round of the FA Trophy if they manage to beat Barrow in their midweek replay.
