A BROMSGROVE football club, which believes in the amateur traditions of fair play, wants former players to get back in touch to help celebrate its 50th birthday.
Bromsgrove Corinthians started playing friendly matches in 1956 and has not looked back.
The team was started by members of Bromsgrove Cricket Club to give them something to do.
Since then it has played all but one season as a friendly side, keeping to the ethos that it is better to play the game rather than win.
The club is planning to celebrate fifty years in action with a special dinner in May 2006.
President Brian Hilson wants old members and players to get back in touch so they can celebrate the key anniversary.
He said: "The club has had so many players over the years that we have lost touch with some.
"We really want anyone connected with Corinthians to get in touch and make this a special celebration."
This season the club made the bold move to play in a league because of the dwindling number of friendly adversaries to play against.
The team now plays in the Kidderminster League.
Hilson said: "It's a shame that we don't play friendlies, but times change.
"We still keep the same attitude in league games."
