Cadbury Athletic Reserves 0 Droitwich Spa 2

DROITWICH maintained their bid to escape from the relegation zone by beating high-flying Cadbury for the second time in the space of three weeks on Saturday.

Victory prized Spa off the bottom of the Midland Combination Division Two for the first time this season.

Manager Tom Goss said: "It was a great performance, we were in control throughout. Cadbury are a good side, but we've met them at the right time and came away with all the points."

Brothers Martin and Andy Jenkins bagged the goals in the first half to hand Spa victory.

l Droitwich will be aiming to inflict more misery on the new basement side, Himley, and pull away from the bottom two on Saturday (2pm kick off).

Victory for Goss's side at home would see them edge towards safety.

He said: "We have to treat Himley with respect. They may be bottom but so were we last week.

"They gave us some hard games last season and I'm expecting the same thing on Saturday."
