Pershore III 17pts,
Chaddesley Corbett II 5
PERSHORE continued their winning ways with a somewhat unconvincing victory over a committed side.
They made a good start thanks to early pressure from the forwards and good ball handling in the backs put winger Steve Hatt over the line for an easy score.
Chaddesley hit straight back with some powerful running in the backs that nearly led to their first score.
As Pershore began to control the game again it was centre Andy Brown who managed to squeeze in after all of the hard work was done inside him, giving Pershore a ten-point interval cushion.
The second half was an end to end affair with plenty of mistakes meaning neither side could really get control.
A period of pressure on the Chaddesley line eventually led to a try for winger Matt Stanton and David Snell added the extras.
At no point in the game did Chaddesley take the foot off the gas and spent a long period camped in the Pershore 22 that brought a well-deserved try.
The last five minutes of the game were frantic with both teams trying to add to their score and, had it not been for a great run and try saving tackle from prop Brian Avery, the final score would have been even closer.
Pershore are in Merit Table action again on Saturday when they play host to Droitwich (2.30pm).
