THE society's AGM at Wychbold Village Hall was well attended.
David Rea, acting chairman, opened the meeting and referred to the society's late chairman and founder member Dr Elizabeth Mitchell, whose loss was still keenly felt.
Secretary Evelyn Phillips read the minutes of the previous AGM, David, as treasurer, presented the financial report and show secretary Philip Pugh gave his report on the spring and autumn shows.
The present committee members were all willing to serve for a further year. Officers were elected as follows: Chairman/treasurer - David Rea, secretary - Evelyn Phillips.
The business completed, the guest speaker Brian Draper presented his talk, illustrated with slides, entitled The Severn -from Bridgnorth to the Estuary. Two years ago Brian had taken us on a spirited journey from the source of the Severn as far as Bridgnorth, so we knew we were in for an entertaining account of the rest of the way. The journey was a delight, illustrated by his splendid slides of the lush countryside, churches, pubs, mansions and cottages
The committee had laid on a splendid buffet served with wine, and a generous raffle was drawn.
