FESTIVE families and Christmas shoppers will be able to see the Spa sparkle when the Lights of Love are switched on in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

The special Christmas tree lights are set to be turned on tomorrow in Victoria Square at 5.30pm.

All lights on the tree have been dedicated to a loved one to raise funds for the hospice and the work it does.

The event will include a dedication by Vicar of St Augustine's Church, Father Doug Chaplain, and music by The Salvation Army together with singing by pupils from Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School.

The mayor of Droitwich Spa, Cllr Richard Morris, will then switch on the tree lights. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in Lloyds TSB after the switch on.

Lights have been dedicated in memory of a loved one, to celebrate a birth or to remember someone who will be absent this Christmas.

Each chosen name will also be displayed in a book of Thanksgiving in Droitwich Spa Library in the run up to Christmas.

Alison Weston, St Richard's community fundraiser, said: "We very much welcome people to join us in Droitwich and help make it a special and uplifting evening."
