A SPA quizmaster is hoping to turn his favourite hobby into a profit after launching a game for all the family just in time for Christmas.
Derek Fellows, who lives in the town, has always liked the challenge of a quiz and can often be seen being the quizmaster at Droitwich Golf Club.
He soon made the decision to use his experience of writing questions and testing regulars to create his very own board game called Disc-o-Test.
The quiz game, which took more than a year to make, takes players and their newly formed pop or rock group on a journey through the history of chart music and musical trivia from the 50s through to the present day. While moving around a specially designed game mat, players must attempt to hit the highs and avoid the lows of the music industry. Trying to avoid the humiliation of being booed off stage or having a tour cancelled before reaching silver, gold or platinum discs and winning the game.
Derek said: "I have been doing quiz games for years and thought it was something I could develop further.
"It was a chore to complete as I had to design everything but it was worth it because it was also good fun to do and will hopefully be a success."
Derek has produced 750 sets of the game at Droitwich Print, where he is a partner in the business. He also got help from his two daughters Kirsty, 27, and Jodi, 24.
"My daughters helped me create questions that were more modern. I am good until it gets to the 80s and early 90s but after that I needed their help. It was good to have them help me because it is a family game," added Derek.
He now wants to write additional questions for his game that he hopes will go from strength to strength.
