Berkswell & Balsall 1, Pershore II 2

PERSHORE entered Satur-day's mid-table clash looking to regain some of their promising early season form.

And, it was the visitors who settled first, using intelligent wide play to bypass the congested midfield area and create several free flowing attacks.

They finally got the goal they deserved when Ball was on hand to net from close-range.

Goalkeeper Graham was then called on several times to protect the lead but the inevitable equaliser arrived after the interval.

Just as a goal changed the pattern of play in the first half, the equaliser saw the momentum swing back to Pershore who, with only minutes remai-ning, produced a slick move between Ingram and Doughty that left Boyce to supply a neat finish.

THE visitors started slowly but soon dominated the midfield with Tommy and Rob Handley in charge throughout.

Numerous chances were created but none were taken despite the efforts of returning centre forward Mike Andrews.

A series of short corners failed to bring the breakthrough and the visitors were indebted to the defensive skills of Mike Handley, Gavin Pugh and Luke Dalley for not falling behind.

The second half followed a similar pattern and brought about the opening goal when Gary Stevenson netted.

The scorer's first goal for the club lifted the whole team and it wasn't long before Graham Handley settled the destiny of the points.
