NEW champion parish Bret-forton managed a solitary success in the 2005 Parish Games but a quartet of runner-up finishes clin-ched the crown.
The prizes were handed out at the home of the new winners last week who had more than 40 points clear of Eve-sham Bengeworth who won three of the sporting contests.
The new champions were presented with the WMCRS Silver Salver by Cllr Pam Davey, the chairman of Wyc-havon District Council, while Bengeworth received the Mitchell and Butler Cup for second place.
Crowle won the Group 4 Total Security Cup (Award of Merit), while Wick were presented with the Small Parishes Trophy.
All players from 29 parishes were registered for their respective games and teams and around 850 participants took part in this year's competition.
