LICKEY Monarchs continue on the title trail by defeating West Midlands Phones B in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League Division One on Saturday.

Eric Hardman, Mervyn Wood won three games each for the Monarchs, while Martin Clark bagged two.

Defending champions Barnt Green B bounced back from defeat last week to beat West Midlands Phones A 8-2, with wins for Pat McCabe (3), Russell Duncan (3) and Sandra Duncan (2).

Colin Would and Roger Ellerington won a game each for Phones.

Mark Fiddian inspired Droitwich Hawks to an 8-2 win over Arrow Vale A. Fiddian won three matches, while Steve Baker and Nick Whitman won two each. John Exton won two games for Vale.

In Division Two Lickey Rocs beat Droitwich Eagles 7-3, with Brian Askey and Ian Watson winning three matches each.

Injury hit SPSP only had two players and lost 7-3 to Bentley Nomads.

Carter Retail got the better of Bentley Terriers 10-0, Droitwich Villains defeated Arrow Vale B 10-0 and West Midlands Phones B beat Arrow Vale C.
