ACORN'S Children's Hospice is £4,000 richer thanks to the efforts of the people of Crowle.
The charity has been boosted by the efforts of all those who took part in the summer's Crowle 10k road race and one- mile fun run.
Fizz Bewley, event organiser, said: "More than 500 runners took part in the 10k and mile fun this year and, with significant corporate sponsorship, we raised £6,700 in total, which has allowed us to make this donation to Acorns, as well as support Crowle's sports field activities.
"We are delighted also that Crowle will be staging the event again next year - on Sunday, May 7, 2006 - and we will be supporting Acorns again."
Sixteen-year-old Victoria Briggs, from Crowle, the first woman to cross the line in the 10k race, finishing 8th, presented the cheque.
