SIR The festival of Remembrance honoured the veterans who fought for freedom and democracy for this country. I work at the Royal British Legion poppy factory in Richmond, Surrey, and I help make half of the poppies.
For several veterans, their lives were cut short fighting for peace, or they were either wounded so that is affected their lives forever. I think how fortunate we are today that this country has been at peace for 60 years.
