ORPHAN Annie is desperately in need of a Daddy for an amateur production at Worcester's Swan Theatre next February.
Ten-year-old Ellen Gilhooly is playing Annie, but unforeseen circumstances have left the Stardust Players without a Daddy Warbucks, the leading man in the show.
"We need a mature man with a baritone voice, who can sing and act," said producer Sue Chance.
"It's not a difficult role, but he has a couple of solos and two or three other songs with the chorus."
Annie will be the company's first presentation at the Swan Theatre, to be staged during half-term, from February 16 to 18.
Previous shows, including Oliver!, The Wizard Of Oz and three pantomimes, have been presented at the King's School, Worcester, and the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich.
The company of about 30 includes both adults and children, some of whom began rehearsing in June.
"We would like some more men in the chorus, so if any other men would like to join, they will be very welcome," said Sue.
Call her on 01905 353226 in the evenings.
