Malvern started brightly and were rewarded in the eighth minute when a free-kick routine some 20 yards out, involving Heidi Barlow and Emily Prosser, saw skipper Tracey Evans volley hard and low into the bottom corner.
Evesham came to life after finding themselves a goal behind but some good defending by Jenny Griffiths and Jess Harding kept them at bay.
Evesham pulled a goal back in the 30th minute and Malvern then found themselves behind two minutes later.
The second-half started slowly and both sides created few chances. Em Hinchliffe came close to equalising when Sam Shail fed the ball through a gap in the Evesham defence. In the 60th minute, Malvern were awarded another free-kick in a dangerous position. Heidi Barlow chipped the ball into the box and Tracey Evans was on hand to head the ball home from close range.
Malvern found themselves behind again in the 77th minute after a lapse of concentration in defence. Malvern attacked looking for the equaliser and had to wait until the 88th minute when Dom Boulton headed-in Emily Prosser's cross, sending the tie into extra time.
Both teams tried to get the early goal but struggled in foggy conditions. Malvern got the breakthrough in the 14th minute when Emily Prosser broke free and hit a powerful shot beyond the keeper.
Evesham continued to press but some good defensive work from Sharon Coxhead and Ella Buckle kept them out. Malvern were glad to hear the final whistle after a tough and physical encounter. It was a good team performance that saw Malvern progress into the third round.
Malvern thank First Floor Flooring and The Soccer Site for their support.
Malvern face Evesham again on Sunday in the league at Langland Stadium. Kick-off is at 2pm.
