HAVING stuttered against Tolladine the previous week, Powick were determined to get back to winning ways, which they did with a performance of character and determination.
MARTLEY SPURS 0, POWICK 3
From the kick off Powick pressed forward and looked threatening though first real chance of the game fell to Tom Goldsmith who headed wide from a Martley counter attack. Spurred on by this Powick took the lead on 25 minutes when Stu Harvey headed-in expertly from a superb Badham cross.
The second goal arrived shortly afterwards when the Martley goalkeeper punched a Bryan Craven cross into his own net under pressure from Dean Drinkwater. With Jamie Abba and Dave Lewis dominant at the back Powick went in at half- time with a two goal cushion that their creative and determined play richly deserved.
The third goal that killed the game off arrived five minutes into the second half when the excellent Nick Prosser scored with a clinical left foot finish.
Further Powick chances came as Dale Humphries and Lee Henderson continued to dominate the midfield area. Having made three changes, Powick were guilty of easing off in the final minutes of the game and Hill pulled off a couple of excellent saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Man-of-the-match went to tough-tackling Dave Lewis.
This result leaves Powick well positioned in the Worcester Saturday premier division and will provide plenty of confidence.
