AN Upton couple are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
George and Margaret Eady first met by chance in a cinema queue. They had each gone with a friend and when the attendant shouted 'room for four' they sat together.
They became a couple soon after and married in Lancaster on November 10, 1945.
They settled in Upton 12 years ago, having lived in various places around the country, including Malvern, where they ran The Central Hotel.
On the actual day of their diamond anniversary, George was unwell in hospital, so fellow members of Upton Baptist Church visited with a cake to mark the occasion.
