FORMER Bond girl Britt Ekland has been wowing audiences at the Swan Theatre since she kicked off Worcester's panto season on Wednesday.

The Swedish beauty returned to the city this week to play Fairy Kindheart in the traditional production, Jack and the Beanstalk.

And the 62-year-old star of the show is keen as many people as possible join the cast for a night of family fun.

"Pantomimes are so special because they are traditional. It is one of the few things you can do as a family. Movies tend to be for children or adults but everyone loves a pantomime. This is my 14th pantomime and I think a lot of people love the audience participation, getting involved and answering back."

Britt described Fairy Kindheart as the traditional panto beauty.

"She is a sort of go-between between good and evil. She is good, though. I really love playing baddies like wicked witches, but I think I am really a goodie at heart and that's how people see me and expect me to perform in a role."

The panto will run until after Christmas and Britt says she is set to work her socks off all over the festive season.

"I have recently finished touring with a theatre company and I think I'm going to be very busy so I will probably just relax on Christmas Day, our only day off. I may go down to London to see my friends but I will be straight back up on Boxing Day."

During the 1970s, Brit was photographed by Lord Lichfield, who recently died following a stroke. She said only a few years ago she sat for another shoot when he tried to recapture some of his most famous images of women.

"Myself, Joanna Lumley and some others posed for the same pictures we had done in the 70s and I really loved them.

"I only received them back from being framed days before he died.

"It is very sad as he was a fantastic photographer and died far too young. He will be missed."

Jack and the Beanstalk will run until Wednesday, December 28, and an enthusiastic Britt added: "Pantos are great and it's not every day I come to Worcester in false eyelashes and glitter. People should come even if it's just to see me!"

Britt Ekland will be signing photographs in Worcester on Sunday, at the Videodrome, Broad Street, from noon.
