KIDDERMINSTER karate sensation Emily Powell is in the black after gaining her second Dan black belt.
The Tsunami Karate Club member was graded by Great Britain chief inbstructor Shihan Eddie Daniels seventh Dan after a gruelling three-day course at the Kimura Shukokai national headquarters.
Powell, who trains four times a week under the guidance of top coach Sensei Solfrid Daniels has been involved in karate since the age of seven.
She is a member of of the Great Britain Kimura Shukokai national squad and is the reigning world and European Kata and Team Kata champion.
The 16-year-old also holds numerous other medals in Kata and Kumite at national level.
Two other members of the Powell family are also black belts with sister Sophie a first Dan and father David, the club instructor, a second Dan.
