I AM writing with regard to Stourport Civic Centre.
As delightful as citizens of Kidderminster may be, not one of them would say that their town was anything but an elephant's graveyard of planners' failed initiatives.
Short of a 60th anniversary visit by the Luftwaffe to flatten the place, it is hard to visualise how it could be rescued.
Now they want to turn their attentions to Stourport which, though faded and jaded like Bewdley, is capable of rejuvenation.
Like Bewdley, Stourport desperately needs a divorce from Kidderminster. This arranged (mis)-marriage was cobbled together 30-odd years ago to suit the ambitions of politicians.
The people don't want it, only politicians would defend it.
We have our own ideas for our civic buildings. Stourport's future should be in Stourport's hearts and hands.
