THE magical tale of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be brought to life at the Rose Theatre in Kidderminster.
Families have been promised a colourful and interactive production of the classic story by Roald Dahl, which will be presented by members of the Nonentities and the youth theatre.
It will run from Saturday, December 3 until Saturday, December 10 and some of the proceeds will be donated to Children and Need.
Around 22 actors are involved in the production, which has been adapted by Richard George.
It will tell the story of Charlie Bucket, who can not believe his luck when he finds the final Golden Ticket and wins a visit to the top secret factory owned by the mysterious Willie Wonka.
During the tour he meets the other ticket winners and their parents including greedy Augustus Gloop and obnoxious Veronica Salt.
Audiences will be able to laugh at the winners' antics as they run amok throughout the tour and rap with the Oompa-Loompas.
Publicity manager, Nicola Blakemore, who plays Violet Beauregarde's mother in the production, said it had been very enjoyable to rehearse adding: "The audience can expect a lot of excitement. It is going to be a very colourful and interactive set.
"The audience will be involved to some extent during the show, I don't want to spoil the surprise by saying how, and the cast will also move among the audience. It is going to be a lot of fun."
The theatre decided to stage the production following the recent Hollywood adaptation starring Johnny Depp and expect it to be a great success.
Mrs Blakemore said tickets were selling well, adding: "Matinees are almost sold out. It has been very popular so don't leave it until the last minute to book."
Matinees on Saturday, December 2 and Saturday, December 10 start at 2.30pm. Evening performances run from Saturday, December 3 until Saturday, December 10 and start at 7.30pm.
