CHRISTMAS presents are needed to bring seasonal cheer to those less fortunate.
St Barnabas Church, Worcester, has appealed for kind-hearted residents to make Christmas boxes for groups, including the homeless and the elderly.
Last year, about 400 boxes were collected by the church, off Rainbow Hill.
People must decide the type of person that the box is for, whether an elderly man, a woman or child in the city's women's refuge or a disadvantaged woman in the Worcester's Asha Women's Centre.
Organiser Mary James said: "We think it's good that local people can help local people who are less fortunate than themselves.
"It reminds us what Christmas is all about."
The gift-wrapped boxes, which could contain anything from chocolate to cosmetics, must be clearly marked and will be collected following a service at the church on Saturday, December 17.
The boxes can be dropped off at the church in Church Road or call 01905 455214 for more information.
